What Are Class 3 (SOT) FFL License Requirements?

The Class 3 (SOT) is an additional certification required for those who wish to deal with additional forms of guns accessories, ammunition and other automatic firearms which do not fall under the traditional Federal Firearms Laws and regulations. The Gun Control Act, which was established in 1968, classifies these forms of weapons and gun accessories as title 2 weapons. In order to import, sell, or manufacture type 2 weapons which fall under the Class 3 (SOT) an individual must hold a special Class 3 (SOT) Federal Firearms Regulation License. Individuals must firstly obtain a traditional FFL and then apply for the additional SOT license. The following is a list of some of the firearms and their Class 3 FFL License Requirements.
